Photos: Around Cornell | Treman State Park | Chateau miscellany

Made a return trip to Cornell to visit housemates, friends, and enjoy general retreat from the crazed week of the RNC. Enjoyed waterfalls, a Roman dinner, backporch parties, the company of old friends, new friends, a trek through the woods, brunch at ABC Cafe, night-time badminton, and general relaxation.

Spent almost a week dodging between protesters, police officers' handcuffs, cyclists, and mobs of media in attempts to document on-going protests with the arrival of the Republican National Convetion on Monday, August 30, 2004. This index page is a collection of several hundred photographs taken that week including images from the Critical Mass Bike Ride, Unite For Peace & Justice Protest, and the Candlelight Vigil on the eve of the convention's end.

Photos: Hudson, NY

Hudson, a former port city where merchants stopped to sell whale and seal skins, is now famous for its antique stores and chic boutiques. Today, it was desolate and quiet as we wandered the alleyways and main street, peering in shop windows and empty cafes. A town of beautiful old buildings and textures, it was a photographic heaven.

Photos: Backyard bliss

Home for the holiday weekend and took some photos of the backyard where so many days were once spent building igloos in the winter, playing soccer in the summer and fall, gardening, and so on. Living in Brooklyn gives one a new appreciation for yards, gardens, quiet at night, and stars. But yes, the raspberry patch is doing well, lots of vegetables are growing in the garden, and I had lots of fun mowing patterns into the lawn today in preparation for a future dream career as a baseball stadium lawn-mower.

Cornell Daze (The greatest game ever played): Photos.

In the spirit of senior week, the idea for a photographic scavenger hunt is born. 2 teams take to Cornell's campus with digital cameras and a mission. Items to photograph include 2 statues, an animal (not a dog or squirrel), an "Abbey Road" photo, a flying object, an image from the 5th floor of the Johnson Museum, a sundial, etc. Team 1 emerges victorious after straying from the list and partaking in debaucherous and sacreligious acts. (Warning: alcohol involved).
